About me

My name is Maria.

I'm 16 years old at the moment and live in the ever hot-and-cold weather of Denmark. It's a land of rolling hills, plain fields stretching far and wide and soft coastlines that are full of laughing and bathing children and tourists during the summer--in the winter, though, it's an entirely different picture: snow and rain and darkness and one much prefers to stay inside. Which is where you'll find me; either burrowing my nose in a book, drawing or watching Netflix (I know, booooring-person-alert). But don't think I'm only ever indoors, because I do go to school and have a somewhat acceptable social life. I think. Heh.

Anyway, I enjoy books, TV-series, movies and art...and just about everything fictional. Nature, people (even though I suck at being around them) and animals also interest me.

I'm a kind of torn personality: While I wish there were more to my life (like fairies and and aliens and kick-ass sword-fighting) I also appreciate the world I live in and marvel at the simple miracle that is all things living. And dying. Creating. Evolving...
And--
I like rock music. I like quiet, soulful music.
I like leather jackets and boots. I like dresses and flowers.
I like tea. I like coffee.
I like dogs. I like cats.
Like so many others, I guess. But I believe there are more to people than the "boxes" we as a society place them in. Each individual is, well, individual. That creepy looking guy at the bus stop might be waiting on his daughter coming home from Australia, a bouquet of flowers hidden under his jacket. That popular girl at school might be really into Doctor Who and drink tea, going to comic-con each year and reblogging Destiel and Johnlock fanart on Tumblr. You just don't know. I'm not saying I never judge people, but I try to change my way of thinking and be more open instead of shallow-minded when it comes to other people. I really try. Because, people have on countless occasions surprised the hell out of me, revealing a side of themselves - or just as simple a thing as a hobby - and totally turning over the boxes I'd placed over their heads, splaying their contents all over my brain and leaving me having to put the pieces back together in a completely new puzzle.

Well, if there's anything else you want to know about me, you can go to twitter page and ask me here: https://twitter.com/mariatarp

Excuse the wannabe-poet language, but I've just read Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor and her writing is otherworldly. So some of it kind of rubbed off on me, though I can only dream and aspire to have my writing be a worthy comparison to hers.

xoxo, Maria
